The Philippines: Rehabilitation Projects Include Dredging

Rehabilitation Projects Include Dredging

Governor Roel Ragay Degamo may not be getting all the political support he needs from most elected local government officials in Negros Oriental but his administration has withstood various battles, largely in the political arena, to dispense public service catering to the basic needs of the people.

2013 was a good year for us”, said Gov. Degamo, who on Friday met the press for his annual year-end report and fellowship with mediamen. “The provincial government, under my leadership, continues to take into account and adhere to its mandate to deliver quality basic services to the people it has committed itself to serve”.

This year, the provincial government has fully implemented half of the P961 million for the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure caused by Tropical Storm Sendong in late 2011, including the rehabilitation of flood control, bridges and dredging among others.

I am hoping that the Board Members, especially the opposition, will act on it soon otherwise the provincial government will be working on a re-enacted budget for 2014”, he said.
