Officials Invite Bids for Wicklow Dredging Project

The Wicklow Port Company has invited bidders to submit their offers for the Wicklow Town Harbor dredging project.

This deepening program will include maintenance dredging of the harbour and disposal of the dredged sediment at sea.

The Wicklow dredging contract will consist of the following activities:

– Excavation of bed material down to a level of –2.87m Chart Datum (CD) in the main harbour channel;

– Excavation of bed material down to a level of –1.87m CD in the outer East Pier area;

– Excavation of bed material down to a level of –1.27 m CD in the inner East Pier area;

– Excavation of bed material down to a level of –1.87m CD in the area between the North and South Quays.

The side slopes to the southern and western boundaries of the proposed loading site will be excavated at a gradient of 1 in 2, and the side slopes at the eastern side of the harbour, towards the East Pier, will be excavated at a gradient of 1 in 5.

The deadline for this tender is 21 January, 2014.
