Corps to Invite Bids for Mississippi River Rock Placement

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has announced a plan to invite bidders for the Mississippi River rock placement project.

To complete this task, the contractor should be capable to provide marine rock placement on the Mississippi River backwater area to create environmental habitat.

Under this contract, the rock closure structure will be constructed in Garner Chute and will require approximately 5,000 TN of riprap.

During the realization of the Mississippi River rock placement program, mechanical dredging of approximately 160,000 cubic yards of material will be required at the lower end of Huron Island and the Goose Lake Pools area.

The estimated value of this project is between $1 million and $5 million.
