USA: Southwest Ohio to Get New Marina

Southwest Ohio to Get New Marina

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) has requested the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers temporarily lower the level of Caesar Creek Lake in Warren County by 10 feet to allow for an archaeological study to be conducted as part of the planned marina construction project.

This archaeological study is the first step in attaining the proper information and permits necessary to create a construction schedule.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which controls operations of the Caesar Creek flood control reservoir and dam, is to begin the requested drawdown on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at a daily rate of 8 inches and reach the requested target level by Wednesday, Feb. 5. The archaeological study will be concluded prior to Wednesday, March 19, when the lake level will be allowed to begin a return to its normal seasonal level.

This facility will become Ohio’s newest public inland marina and one of the largest of its kind in southwest Ohio.
