Corps Awards Contract for Roseau Flood Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, recently awarded a $2.468 million contract to Gladen Construction Inc. of LePorte, Minn., to complete a 0.25 mile portion of a flood damage reduction project in Roseau, Minn.

The Roseau project will include the construction of approximately 8.75 miles of earth levees, 4.5 miles of diversion channel, an inlet structure and an outlet structure.

Construction of the diversion channel began in 2010. Since then, 3.5 miles of the channel has been excavated and the outlet structure has been completed.

With the completion of this contract, 0.75 miles of channel and the channel inlet structure remain to be constructed.
