Dredging & Reclamation Summit to Discuss Port Development Projects

IQPC’s Dredging & Reclamation USA Summit is a global event that unites port authorities, engineers, port operators, construction companies, dredging contractors, and more in their quest to ensure the profitability and quality assurance of dredging projects.

“Hear from thought leaders who will share their expertise from the Port of Miami, Jaxport, Port of New Orleans, and Port of Los Angeles. Join us in Miami on March 31st-April 2nd for the Dredging & Reclamation Summit to discuss billions of dollars worth of port projects including navigating the appropriations and contracting process to work with USACE, identifying how to improve container traffic, evaluating the beneficial use of dredged material and the importance of remediation,” the officials announced.

Background

The expansion of the Panama Canal and the creation of larger, more efficient vessels have created the need for the larger waterways. It is critical that this infrastructure continues to develop for the transportation of people, equipment, materials and goods. Without adequate access to ports and harbors, global trade would suffer.

Not only is dredging necessary for capital improvements, but it is useful in the aid of rising elevation for low-lying areas during land reclamation following natural disasters due to climate change. Furthermore, beneficial use of dredged materials allows for the integration of artificial seabeds to enhance or protect marine life.
