Corps Unveils Details on Lower Snake and Clearwater Rivers Dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, has presented the details about the Lower Snake and Clearwater Rivers maintenance dredging plan.

This cleanup program will consists of mechanical dredging of the federal navigation channel, port berthing areas, and a navigation lock approach at four locations on the Snake River and lower Clearwater River.

The dredged material will be placed in the Lower Granite reservoir (Snake RM 116), just upstream of Knoxway Canyon.

The total value of this dredging project, located in Franklin, Whitman, Asotin, and Garfield Counties in Washington State and Nez Perce County in Idaho, is between $5 mln and $10 mln.

The performance period is scheduled to be from Dec 15, 2014 until Feb 14, 2015.
