Demand for Inland Waterways Dredging Estimated at 90 mln cbm

The demand for dredging operations at inland waterways of Russia is estimated at 90 mln cbm, said Igor Zlobin, head of IWW department of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency, today at the Forum of Dredging Companies organized by media-group PortNews.

According to Igor Zlobin, the volume of dredging operations performed at inland water ways of Russia in 2013 hit 30 mln cbm.

He also says there is a problem of aging dredging fleet. New vessels should be built, especially tailored for Siberian rivers.
