Port of Oakland Dredging Details Unveiled

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, has announced the details about the Port of Oakland dredging program.

This deepening contract will include maintenance dredging of Oakland Inner and Outer Harbor Channel to provide a project authorized depth of -50-feet (MLLW).

During the dredging work, approximately 800,000 cubic yards of material will be removed from these areas.

The dredged material will be transported and placed at a fully permitted upland beneficial use site chosen by the contractor.

The estimated start date of the dredging work is after August 1, 2014, and the whole project should be wrapped up before December 1, 2014.
