Broadkill Beach to Get Sand from Delaware River

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, prepared a plan for the Delaware River dredging project.

This cleanup program, worth between $25 mln and $100 mln, will require dredging within the Delaware River main navigation channel and placement of dredged material on Broadkill Beach, Delaware.

As part of the contract, the beachfill work will include the placement of approximately 1,900,000 cubic yards of dredged material onto about 15,000 linear feet of Broadkill Beach.

All dredging work and services under this contract should be completed no later than 15 April 2016.
