DHSLRR, DEA Available for Review, Corps Says

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, announced the availability of the Draft Hurricane Sandy Limited Re-evaluation Report – Atlantic Coast of Long Island, Jones Inlet to East Rockaway Inlet, Long Beach Island, New York, Storm Damage Reduction Project (DHSLRR).

The Draft Environmental Assessment Atlantic Coast of Long Island, Jones Inlet to East Rockaway Inlet, Long Beach Island, New York, Storm Damage Reduction Project (DEA) is also available for review.

With the passage of the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Appropriations Act of 2013 (Public Law 113-2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been given the authority and funding to complete ongoing coastal storm damage risk reduction projects and studies in the Northeast.

As part of the planning and implementation process for the authorized Atlantic Coast of Long Island, Jones Inlet to East Rockaway Inlet, Long Beach Island, New York, Storm Damage Reduction Project, the New York District has updated prior engineering and design efforts, physical surveys, and environmental compliance.
