Ba River Dredging Nears Completion

China Railway First Group Company Limited presented the result of the Rewa and Navua rivers dredging, as well as the current status of the Ba River dredging, to a Fiji governemt delegation.

Ba River Dredging Project, carried out in three phases, is nearing completion, said Donald Singh, CRFG spokesperson, while Rewa and Navua rivers have successfully been dredged.

River dredging is a long-term action-plan for tackling flood risks in Fiji.

Flood protection works in a bid to improve the flow capacity of the rivers and reduce flood damage to agricultural crops, buildings, towns and villages, are very important for this area.

The project contractor used this opportunity to learn more about the country’s major rivers.
