UK: Moorland Dredging About to Begin

Moorland Dredging About to Begin

Dredging is on target to start at the end of this month as long as water levels continue to drop and the banks and adjacent land are dry enough, announced Somerset County Council. It will commence near Moorland House Farm and machines are due to start arriving at the site soon.

The temporary ramps have been put in to allow road access over the extra pipes installed for the additional temporary pumps at Elson’s Clyce and Northmoor Pumping Station. One temporary pump at Northmoor Pumping Station will continue operating.

The high capacity temporary pumps at Dunball are currently being demobilised and will be removed by the end of this week.
