Hearing to Examine Corps FY15 Budget Set for Next Week

The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, chaired by U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH), will hold a hearing next week on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposed budget and program priorities for fiscal year (FY) 2015.

The Corps provides water resources development projects for the nation, typically through cost-sharing partnerships with non-federal sponsors. Activities of the Corps include navigation, flood damage reduction, shoreline protection, hydropower, dam safety, water supply, recreation, environmental restoration and protection, and disaster response and recovery.

The hearing, entitled “A Review of the President’s Fiscal Year 2015, Budget Request for the United States Army Corps of Engineers,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building, in Washington, D.C.
