Milford Pond Dredging to Take Place in August

The Milford Pond Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration program is scheduled for August 2014, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

In order to restore open water habitat suitable for resident fish species and water birds, this project will involve dredging of about 250,000 cubic yards of material from approximately 17 acres of the Milford Pond.

The dredged material will be placed in a shallow 34-acre area of the Milford Pond adjacent to the dredge area.

The estimated value of this cleanup project is between $1 mln and $5 mln.
