USA: South Florida Water Management District OKs CEPP Plan

The South Florida Water Management District Governing Board approved a resolution signing on as the local sponsor of the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) and affirming the District’s financial capability for the project.

Regarding this, Governor Rick Scott issued a following statement: “We’re committed to restoring and protecting water quality for families along the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee estuaries, and this an historic step that will put into motion projects that are critical to protecting Florida’s natural treasures.”

CEPP is an ecosystem restoration plan designed to improve the quantity, quality, timing and distribution of water flows to South Florida.
