Wachapreague and Bradford Bay Dredging Plan Presented

Approximately 82,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged this summer from the Wachapreague Channel and Bradford Bay, said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District.

This maintenance work will be performed by a hydraulic cutter head dredger and all dredged material will be placed inside an authorized placement site within Bradford Bay.

The total cost is estimated to be between $1 mln and $5 mln, and the solicitation will be posted on or about 30 April 2014.

The main goal of this project is to achieve a required depth of -6 feet MLLW with one foot of allowable overdepth in these areas.
