Corps Offers Its Final Approval for JAXPORT Dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday issued a final Chief’s Report approving the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Project, clearing the way for congressional authorization in an upcoming Water Resources Development Act.

JAXPORT CEO Brian Taylor was joined by Congresswoman Corrine Brown, Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and JAX Chamber President Daniel Davis for the announcement.

Everyone who cares about the future economic vitality of North Florida and the competitiveness of U.S. global trade should mark this as a red letter day. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ stamp of approval on the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening project solidified this project’s importance not just to our region and state but also to the nation,” said Taylor.
