Army Corps to Develop Plans for Fort Worth Channel

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, commenced development of the plans and specifications design documents for the Fort Worth Central City by-pass channel.

The 1.5 mile long and 300 foot wide channel is part of the overall Trinity River Vision Project.

Design of the by-pass channel will be accomplished during fiscal years 2015 and 2016. This program is a Corps of Engineers Civil Works project in partnership with the Tarrant Regional Water District, Tarrant County, City of Fort Worth and Streams and Valleys, Inc.

“The project delivery team members are familiar with the project because they have been engaged with the project for years and know the sponsors needs,” said Geotechnical Branch Chief Mark Black.
