USA: Horsethief Lake Dredging Plan Presented

Horsethief Lake Dredging Plan Presented

The Black Hills National Forest is preparing a plan to remove about 15,000 cubic yards of sediment from Horsethief Lake and place it to nearby disposal sites.

The lake will be drained in late fall of 2014, and dredging work will commence as soon as ground freezes allow equipment to operate in the lake basin.

During this cleanup scheme, riprap will be placed along shoreline in several locations.

The estimated value of the project is between $150,000 and $500,000, and the solicitation will be posted by May 7, 2014.
