Saint-Denis Area to Get New Offshore Dike

Conseil Régional de la Réunion has announced a tender for a dike construction project in the Saint-Denis area.

This contract will involve construction of approximately 2,700m section of dike, located offshore, and hydraulic structures built as part of the new coastal route project between the Grande Chaloupe east and downtown to La Possession west.

The dike is designed on the principle of a breakwater wall with pedestrian access on the top running alongside the main highway.

The project period is 42 months from the date of contract award, and the tender deadline is June 17, 2014.
