Thulusdhoo Scheme in Full Compliance with EIA Standards

The Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo land reclamation project commenced on May 6, 2014. The works are being carried out by Boskalis International BV.

Dredging and reclamation work is being executed in full compliance with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) standards and in accordance with the revised work methodology that has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, announced housing.gov.mv.

There are no negative environmental impacts from the dredging and reclamation works reported to date. The post reclamation monitoring assessment will be carried out shortly after the completion of the project.

Under this scheme, a land area of 33 hectares will be reclaimed and 1650 meters of shoreline will be protected.

The duration of the project is 18 months.
