WASSP WMB-3250 Independent Report Released

WASSP Ltd, a leading multi-beam manufacturer, has announced the release of an independent report on their WMB-3250 Multibeam Sonar.

Based in New Zealand, WASSP Ltd have been supplying its Multibeam systems globally since 2007 and have over 700 systems being used in the commercial fishing industry and other applications including survey, dredging, fisheries research and defence.

Using advanced signal processing techniques coupled with the latest generation hardware platforms, the WASSP WMB-3250 is a high-quality Multibeam solution that breaks the tradition of a Multibeam system being an expensive and complicated technology to use.

“It was important to us that this report was conducted by an independent party using survey grade equipment with the resulting bathymetric survey data meeting industry standards. We certainly achieved that,” said Terry McDonald, General manager of WASSP Ltd’s parent company Electronic Navigation Ltd.

The report conducted by Durban based company Environmental Mapping & Surveying (EMS) concentrated on a technical evaluation of the WMB3250 performance. Sensors and hydrographic software used included HYPACK, SMC IMU, Valeport SVP and Trimble RTK.

EMS’s independent technical report clearly shows that the WMB-3250 is able to deliver the results and quality required for most entry level survey/mapping and dredge type applications where cost-effectiveness and ease of use are the prime requirement,” said Mr McDonald.
