Filley Park Development Program Involves Dredging

State Representative David Baram said that Bloomfield is in line to receive a $600,000 state grant for improvements at Filley Park, including sidewalks, construction of parking, removal of a dam obstructing the brook, dredging the pond, an outdoor pavilion and installation of a fish ladder.

The grant championed by Representative Baram and supported by Senators Eric Coleman (D-Bloomfield) and Beth Bye (D-West Hartford) is among a number of allocations and grants that Governor Dannel P. Malloy is recommending for approval by the State Bond Commission when it meets Friday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

In order to remain focused on economic growth and greater prosperity for all of our citizens, we must recognize the importance of open spaces and recreation areas that provide positive outlets for children and families – particularly in our urban areas,” said Governor Malloy.
