USA: Norriego Point Dredging Project Moves On

USA Norriego Point Dredging Project Moves On

The dredging of the Coast Guard Channel, a part of the Norriego Point project, has been completed.

The Old Pass Lagoon Channel dredging operations are planned to begin today, with one part parallel to the Marler Bridge already completed.

As the Destin Log reports, Inland Dredging Company will be removing up to 18,000-cubic yards of sand from the choked up navigation channel, and the mouth of Destin harbor.

The dredged sand in Coast Guard Channel and the Old Pass Lagoon Channel will be used for Norriego Point Stabilization Phase 1.

The project will secure better recreational area for residents and tourists, and will allow easier navigation through the harbour.
