Officials to Discuss Proposed Cranberry Bend Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, will hold an open house public meeting for the proposed project at Cranberry Bend on Tuesday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Waverly City Hall, 111 East Kelling Ave., Waverly, Mo.

The Corps will provide information on the background and proposed project. They will also solicit questions and input from the public for use in completion of the final Project Implementation Report with Integrated Environmental Assessment.

Cranberry Bend, a unit of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, is located in northwestern Saline County and northeastern Lafayette County, just north of Grand Pass, Mo.

The proposed project at Cranberry Bend is part of the Missouri River Recovery Program.
