Oceanographer Ken Israel Joins Integral's California Practice

Science and engineering firm Integral Consulting Inc. has appointed Mr. Ken Israel to its growing ocean services team as a principal oceanographer. In this role, Mr. Israel will further augment Integral’s offerings to clients on a range of environmental and engineering projects.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning project management, oceanography, and marine geology, Mr. Israel has managed projects related to offshore pipeline stability, reservoir/river/estuary/ocean sediment transport processes, dredging, shoreline protection, erosion control, and marine construction of ports and harbors.

His direct, hands-on style, strategic vision, and extensive background in oceanography increase our breadth of expertise on projects for Integral clients in California and across the country,” said Ed Conti, Principal Geologist and Director of Integral’s California region. Integral has 14 offices nationwide.

Mr. Israel’s research and projects have focused on marine geohazards and geology, coastal erosion, and sediment transport. He also has expertise in collecting and analyzing oceanographic and marine geotechnical data.

His experience includes a range of analyses and studies related to marine geohazards and seabed structure interaction; coastal and undersea landslides; beach processes; sediment transport; physical oceanography; dredge design, monitoring, and disposal; offshore aggregate borrow sites; coastal erosion and protection; and impacts of sea level rise on infrastructure and coastal processes.

Prior to joining Integral, he was involved in projects in the Pacific Islands, U.S., Europe, Canada, and Central America.
