DSC Dredge President Receives Prestigious Award

DSC Dredge, LLC, President/CEO Bob Wetta was honored by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) with the 2014 Dredger Of The Year award at the recent Dredging Summit & Expo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

DSC Dredge has been a member of WEDA for more than 20 years and has enjoyed a strong employee commitment to volunteering for various committees and roles within the organization.

Bob has been an active member of WEDA for more than 10 years, serving in such roles as president and vice-president, as well as on a variety of boards and committees.

“Bob Wetta is a great friend and colleague. He has done so much for the industry and is always prompt in answering any questions related to dredging and equipment or to troubleshoot or advise on an interesting project. Bob is truly an asset to the U.S. dredging industry,” commented Ram K. Mohan, PE, PhD, Chairman and President of WEDA.

WEDA has awarded the Dredger Of The Year award since 1991. Bob Wetta is the 24th recipient of the award since its inception. WEDA’s mission is to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to dredging, navigation, marine engineering and construction.

It fulfills this mission through various outlets, such as recognizing individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements and sponsoring worldwide events to further educate and provide an outlet for teaching the community.

DSC Dredge, LLC, advances the engineering, automation, manufacturing and quality of cutter suction, clamshell and underwater pump mining dredges. The company operates from three major manufacturing facilities located in Reserve, LA, Poplarville, MS, and Greenbush, MI.
