Australia: Esperance Port Dredging Nears End

Esperance Port Dredging Nears End

The twelve man crew of the trailer suction hopper dredger (TSHD) River Bee is wrapping up an intense two moths long dredging project at the Esperance port.

During the dredging, around 12,000 cubic metres of sediments from the berth pockets was pumped into the ponds, dewatered and later capped with clean fill.

According to the project manager from BMT JFA Consultants, Mr. Jonathan McKay, “the project will ensure the port is a uniform 19.93 m deep at low tide.

This is the first time the port has been deepened since the expansion works in 2000.
