Kennet and Avon Canal Green Bank Restoration Underway

The Kennet and Avon Canal, a waterway in southern England, will soon have one mile of newly restored bank. Restoration works on the portion of a 87 miles long canal are in full swing.

According to Oda Dijksterhuis from the Canal and River Trust, the “green method” being used to rebuild the bank was similar to one used 250 years ago.

This video takes a bird’s-eye view of the green bank restoration works in action to show how the Canal and River Trust improves habitats and repairs the canal bank.
