Brownsville Officials Work to Prevent Illegal Dumping in Resacas

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board’s Resaca Restoration Project is currently underway.

This project is necessary because sediment, tires, trash, and other debris has built up over the years, impeding water flow in these waterways. The only way to return the resacas to their original depth is to dredge them.

After the Cemetery Resaca dredging program, tires have been spotted again.

The main goal of this BPUB Update is to raise awareness to prevent illegal dumping in Brownsville’s resacas.
