Canada: Report Recommends Thunder Bay Harbor Dredging

Report Recommends Thunder Bay Harbor Dredging

Months of planning and public meetings are complete and now there is a proposal to clean up the mercury contamination in Lake Superior on the north side of the Thunder Bay harbor.

The non profit environmental group, Eco Superior, commissioned the report and spokesperson Jamie Saunders said it all comes down to one recommendation, which is to dredge the area and to haul the sediment to the Mission Bay disposal site.

There will be an open house in October to get more public input on the report.
