New York State Canal Corporation announced that environmental dredging will be occurring between navigation markers R “90” and G “97” on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal in Waterloo starting on Monday, September 15th through the end of the 2014 navigation season.

During the first phase of dredging, the north half of this section of the channel will be closed and all vessels will navigate in the southern half.

A subsequent Notice to Mariners will be issued announcing the swapping of navigation to the northern half of the channel while dredging occurs in the south half. Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a “No-Wake” speed when transiting this area.
