Seattle-based Manson Construction Co. has been awarded big government contract for the replacement of a fuel pier breakwater at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.

The company was awarded a $8.74 million firm-fixed-price task order 0002 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N44255-14-D-9004) for the replacement works.

Works under the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island project will include demolition of the finger pier, construction of a fuel pier breakwater, and dredging of the navigational access channel.

The project, to be performed in Oak Harbor, Washington, is expected to be completed by April 2016.
