The Federal Target Program “Russian Transport System Development (2010 – 2020)” has been amended by the Government of Russia.

Amendments for «Sea transport» subprogram were developed in order to execute the list of orders from October 15th 2013 (No. Pr-2416) made by the president of Russia after the meeting on realization of «Yamal SPG» project in Salekhard, and also the president’s instructions on support of marine passenger terminal construction in the city of Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region.

The signed resolution reallocates federal budget funding under the Federal Targeted Programme, Transport System Development (2010-2020). The reallocation of budget funding will make it possible to completely finance construction of seaport facilities near the town of Sabetta on the Yamal Peninsula, including the excavation of an access canal in the Gulf of Ob.

The owner and developer of the project is FSUE “Rosmorport”. At the moment, there are 19 dredging vessel, together with the auxiliary fleet, conducting dredging operations in the waters of the Sabetta seaport.

In 2014 the total amount of material to be removed by dredging should reach number of 21.5 million m³. Apart from the dredging work, for this year the enterprise is planning to start construction of the root section of south-eastern ice-protection seaport construction.
