Two days ago, Egypt’s prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab paid a visit to Ismailia to follow up the ongoing work at the new Suez Canal project and congratulate the workers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

Upon his arrival, Mahlab held a meeting with Suez Canal Authority Head Mohab Mamish and a number of officials including Ismailia Governor Ahmed el-Qassas, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Emad el-Alfy and Chief of Staff of the Engineering Authority Kamel el-Wazir, to get acquainted with the latest developments in the project and the work plan scheduled to be implemented during the coming period.

Mahlab inspected the work at the project as two dredgers were operating on site. He also thanked the workers for their strenuous efforts to finish the project on time.

The prime minister said that the government would honor President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s promise to implement the project on schedule. He asserted that they are currently making a new history by digging the new Suez Canal.

Mahlab pointed out, “I came to the Suez Canal as an engineer, who is willing to work in the new Suez Canal project so that I could tell my grandchildren that I was honored by working in this giant project“.

He noted that all Egyptians appreciate the Suez Canal workers, who are currently doing their best to finish the project.
