Yankee Marina Inc. has recently awarded a contract to dredge an area 840 foot long by 140′ wide which is occupied by the floats and the area of the marina that is immediately landward of the federal channel at their facility located on the Royal River in Yarmouth, Maine.

Dredging operations will commence around November 3rd 2014 and will be completed by April 1st 2015. The dredge sediments will be placed at the Portland Disposal site located approximately 15 nautical miles from the mouth of the Royal River.

The dredging contractor is being required to use a specific haul route when transferring to and from the dredged material placement site.

The route is the same as being used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractor who is currently dredging the Royal River for the Corps.
