News in Photos: Keel Laying for Rosmorport Dredger

Krasnoye Sormovo, one of Russia’s oldest shipyards, today held the keel laying ceremony for a 1000 m³ trailing suction hopper dredger, the first in a series of three which will be built for FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The main task of the vessels will be to remove materials from the waterways and berths in order to maintain safe navigation depths at Ust-Luga, Big Port St. Petersburg and Tuapse.

All three vessels will be equipped with the necessary high-dredging equipment, suitable for the climatic conditions of the region.

In order to expand the scope of the work during dredging with sharp sand and gravel and in limited areas near piers and jetties, the dredgers will be equipped with an outboard multifunctional submersible groundwater pump type “DOP 200”.
