SIMRA Meeting on Missouri River

The State Interagency Missouri River Authority (SIMRA) will meet in Des Moines on November 17.

Representatives of six state agencies will discuss ongoing science and upcoming weather expected to affect river levels and water quality in the Missouri River. Federal and state agency staff will update participants on the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy, shallow water habitat projects and the Missouri River Recovery and Implementation Committee’s work.

SIMRA seeks stakeholder input and makes recommendations on policies affecting the Missouri River.

The group will meet at 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Conference Room 2N in the Wallace State Office Building, 502 E. Ninth St., Des Moines. The meeting is open to the public.
