Latest Video on the New Suez Canal Project

Dredging works on the new Suez Canal in Egypt, an ambitious project with a deadline of only nine months, are in full swing and are going according to schedule.

Companies from Egypt, UAE, the US, Belgium, and the Netherlands will dredge the new waterway. Included in the project are Boskalis, Van Oord, National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), Jan de Nul, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) and Dredging International NV.

In addition to creating a new canal, some existing sections of the current Suez Canal will be broadened and deepened. The estimation is that in total 250 million cubic meters of sediment will be removed.

New Suez Canal dredging project, one of the largest in recent history, is estimated to be worth around $2.1 billion.
