The 3rd Annual South-East Asia Port Expansion Summit is scheduled for March 25-26, 2015, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At this summit terminal operators, port owners and authorities, government officials, shipping lines and infrastructure experts will discuss how to sustain healthy growth in the sector as well as assure efficient operations inside the ports, and henceforth lift the region’s ports to higher international standards and dimensions.

With the fast growing economy and its archipelagic nature, there are huge potentials to be developed in the shipping sector and port development and management. Recent regulatory updates also encourage more foreign participation in those areas, since it provides a more equal level playing field and opportunities for foreign players.

Booming economic activity and the need to address congestion in current container ports as well as solve lacking hinterland connectivity, are leading to ambitious upgrades and construction of entirely new ports all over South-East Asia.
