Webb Dock Dredging Moves Forward

Dredging operations are currently underway inside and in proximity to Webb Dock, according to Port of Melbourne official website.

The completion of this dredging scheme is scheduled for February 9.

The dredger is serviced by a barge and tug that deposit the material in the approved Dredged Material Ground approximately 10 kms south of Williamstown. Commercial vessels will have priority over dredging operations.

Recreational boats should remain clear of the tug and barge during transits between Webb Dock and the Dredged Material Grounds.

The project will reconfigure and redevelop Webb Dock returning it to its original role as an international container handling facility. This new container handling terminal will be capable of handling the equivalent of at least one million containers per annum.
