Iran to Work with India on Chabahar Port Development

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani yesterday vowed to collaborate more closely with India on the strategic Chabahar Port development.

During a meeting with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval, the president said that Iran is committed to its good bilateral ties with India and is ready to cooperate more closely with the Indian private sector.

Rouhani also referred to fields of cooperation, including ports development, making North-South Corridor, steel, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, scientific and research cooperation and called for employing all potentials to develop bilateral ties.

Chabahar could become the North-South Corridor in the region and New Delhi looked to it as a place for quick development of relations, said Rouhani.
