VIDEO: Reuse of Dredged Materials by DEME

DEME has just released a video about the reuse of dredged materials on its two projects, namely on the river Seine, Courval in France and London, Gateway in the United Kingdom.

In the case of the London Gateway approximately 27 million m³ of soil was dredged during the project.

The material that was dredged from the Thames and from a deepwater maneuvering and berthing area, was used to reclaim 92 ha of land from the river, and to raise 80 ha of existing land for the port development and the platform construction.

During both projects strict European regulations on reuse of waste material were followed.

This shows DEME’s commitment to conduct its business in a way that minimizes adverse impact on the environment.
