All Ready for Patterson River Dredging

Over the next week, the Parks Victoria will be performing maintenance dredging works at the entrance of the Patterson River.

According to the Parks, dredging will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge. Dredged material will be deposited for beach renourishment at the adjacent beach.

On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked as per IALA standards.

Maintenance dredging is conducted by Parks Victoria to maintain safe access to boating facilities in key locations such as Queenscliff, Patterson River, Werribee River, St Kilda Pier and Mordialloc Creek.

Dredging of shipping channels and fairways is managed by the Port of Melbourne Corporation and Victorian Regional Channels Authority.
