Puyallup Shoreline Plan Ready for Public Comment

As part of a review process by the Washington State Department of Ecology, the public is encouraged to review and comment on the city of Puyallup’s updated Shoreline Master Plan.

The updated proposal, approved by the Puyallup City Council in November 2014, replaces the city’s 1987 shoreline master program. It addresses uses and development along Clarks Creek and the Puyallup River.

The plan also includes a shoreline public access plan, updated wetland buffer standards, and looks to the future by preplanning for shorelines within urban growth areas. With the proposed plan from the city of Puyallup, Ecology will now compare the plan to the Shoreline Management Act and the Shoreline Master Program Guidelines.

Ecology is asking for public comment on the proposal from March 10 through April 9, 2015, at 5 p.m.
