DEME, an international group of specialized companies in the field of capital and maintenance dredging, land reclamation, port infrastructure development, etc. has just released the latest photos from the Onne Port dredging and land reclamation project in Nigeria.
The port is located along the Bonny River near Port Harcourt in Rivers State and serves major markets in East Nigeria and the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
The project is being carried out to expand port infrastructure and facilitate the export of oil and gas, as well as to protect the shoreline from erosion.
Nigeria recently presented plans that include spending approx $3 billion on new cargo-handling facilities in Nigeria, which would include the construction of three new 15-meter-deep berths under the Onne Port project.
