Officials to Discuss Mamanasco Lake Project

The annual State of the Lake meeting planned by the Mamanasco Lake Improvement Fund will be held today at 8 p.m. in the CVS Community Room located at 467 Main Street in Ridgefield.

Efforts to reduce algae and weed growth in the lake will be discussed during the meeting, the Ridgefield Press reports.

Barbara Hartman, president of the Mamanasco Lake Improvement Fund (MLIF), said: “We’re going to just have a discussion about our activities in 2014, and the current condition of the lake, and activities we want to do in 2015.”

The meeting will feature Mark Amler of Aquacleaner Connecticut, discussing the harvesting of lake weeds and suction dredging work his firm started last fall.

The MLIF is also working with the town on a project to reduce erosion in a stream that is filling in part of the lake.
