ODNR to Dredge Buckeye Lake

Ohio State Parks staff began preparations this week for seasonal dredging activities at some of Ohio’s canal lakes, including Buckeye Lake.

Staff were unloading a dredge near Loeb’s Island on Buckeye Lake and preparing to get it ready, while a second dredge will be assembled at Buckeye Lake. Dredging operations are scheduled to begin around April 6.

ODNR will be operating two dredges on Buckeye Lake this season; their focus is to improve boating navigation. ODNR also will be addressing some of the concerns expressed about improving boating access for some of the lake businesses as well as other lake residents.

As the year progresses, ODNR plans to increase its dredge operations at Buckeye Lake.
