Picture of the Day: Birds Eye View of Murray Mouth

The SA Water, owned by the Government of South Australia and focused on providing essential services that support growth and economic development throughout the state, has just released an aerial photo of the Murray Mouth dredging operations near Goolwa Channel.

Dredging at the Murray Mouth began on 9 January 2015 to maintain connectivity (exchange of water) between the river and the Southern Ocean.

The dredges that are operating in the Tauwitchere and Goolwa Channels have so far removed over 290,000 cubic meters of sand from the site.

The Murray Mouth dredging project is set to be completed by the end of June 2015.
